Among his major guitar influences are Stevie Ray Vaughan, Freddie King, Albert King and Sean Costello. Apart from his band, Marsicek has been involved in a number of projects both in the Czech Republic and internationally. He has collaborated with musicians from abroad , including American blues artists like Sharon Lewis, Lorenzo Thompson and most notably the sons of the legendary Muddy Waters, Big Bill and Mud. He is aso a founding member of the OJ Zlabek Blues Band. The band won the Czech Blues Challenge in 2023 and subsequently represented the Czech Republic at the European Blues Challenge 2024 in Braga, Portugal. In 2025, they also won the Blues Aperitiv competition and performed at the Blues Alive festival. One of the most important collaborations in Marsicek’s career is also his long-standing musical partnership with South African singer, songwriter and guitarist Gerald Clark. The two musicians first met in 2016, during one of Clark’s tours, which “might have shaved a few years off their lives”. They quickly discovered a strong musical connection and, over time, their professional relationship developed into a close friendship as well, touring South Africa in 2019, 2021 and 2024. Accompanying him on this current South African tour will be Jakub Hlobil (CZ) on guitar/bass hybrid and Tim Rankin (ZA - Bed on Bricks) on drums.Jak TomasJak Tomas, the artist formerly known as Joshua Kenneth Grierson, is a self taught multi-genre singer, songwriter, music-for-film composer and producer born, raised and based in Cape Town, South Africa. Since forming his first band in 1997, Tomas has been a part of various acts covering a number of genres and instruments, with whom he has toured nationally and internationally. The melodic instincts that have been the bedrock of Tomas's musical output for over 25 years have filtered into all his projects and are firmly present, especially in his solo material.Tomas has always ignited his world class, country inflected folk-rock songs with an unstinting passion that's all-consuming. Known for his explosive and emotionally drenched live performances, Tomas entrances audiences with his hypnotic songs and incredible vocal range. Jak Tomas is an authentic, passionate and uncompromising artist, an artist that wants to tell you a story.
